Admissions

St. Mary's School has small to moderately sized classes for children in grades K-8. An average class size of 18 allows each child to strive for academic excellence. St Mary’s also offers 2, 3 and 5 day Pre-K programs for 3 and 4 year old children.

Registration is held each year at the end of January through early February for the following school year. While most students join St. Mary's School at the Kindergarten level, students are accepted into higher grades based on space availability and meeting entry qualifications.   Download our registration form.

Admission Policy:  Students will be accepted for all grades pre-K through eight regardless of race, color or creed.  In case of a waiting list, preference will be given to members of St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish, and those who have siblings already enrolled in the school. After initial registration, students from other parishes will be considered. Students entering Kindergarten must be at least five years of age by August 31st. Students entering pre-K must be three or four years old, respectively, by August 31st. For more information please contact the school office.

Tuition: Kindergarten through eighth grade tuition rates for the 2008 / 2009 school year are as follows:

  • Discounted Parishioner Rate: $4,200.00 per child
  • Standard / Out of Parish: $4,475.00 per child
  • Pre K rates: Two Day: $1845; Three Day: $2320; Five Day $3270
  • For families with more than one child a discount of $50 for each additional child is applied to the tuition rate.

A $75.00 per child non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration. There is a $125.00 educational materials fee is due May 1, 2008. Each family agrees to sell or purchase 15 raffle calendars at a cost of $20.00 per calendar at the beginning of the school year.

Volunteer Commitment: Each family agrees to contribute volunteer time of 20 hours per school year. It is hoped that working together on special projects will offset the cost of education as well as build community among parents. If your work schedule does not permit time during the day or evening, there are projects that can be worked on from home. Volunteer! Get involved! Get to know our wonderful St. Mary's families.
